Restart Agents from Management Console

The Management Console allows you to remotely reset the Agent service.

Info

  • This only restarts the Agent service, not the host machine.
  • Supported operating systems: Windows, macOS, Linux (including NAS devices).
  • Windows Agent service must run as Local System or Admin. The Local Service account cannot initiate a service restart.

To restart the Agent service:

  1. Select Agents, then locate and click the Agent you want to restart.
  2. In the CONFIGURATION tab, click Restart.

    • The option isn't available for Agents running version older than 2.7.
    • Restart option is disabled for offline Agents.
  3. Click Continue to proceed.

Note

  • If the Agent service cannot shut down within 90 seconds, the Managemnet Console will report a timeout error. You can try restarting the Agent later or initialize the restart directly on the host system.
  • The Management Console is not in control of the Agent's start up and it cannot launch the Agent remotely.
