Resilio Active Everywhere 4 - Before you update
Resilio Active Everywhere Platform v4 introduces a range of new functionalities and improvements. For detailed information on these updates, see Whats New In Resilio 4 0.
Before you proceed with the update, it is crucial to consider and implement the following key assumptions.
Disable Resilio Driver installation when updating Agents from 4.x to 4.2.0
on Windows7, Windows 8 and Windows Server 2008R2
When upgrading Agents from version 4.x to 4.2.0 on Windows 7, Windows 8, or
Windows Server 2008 R2, do not install the Resilio File locking driver.
The file locking driver is not supported on operating systems older than
Windows 10. Since the installer does not currently enforce a platform check,
you must manually deselect the Resilio Driver during the installation process
of the Agent.
Updating Windows Agents via Distribution job
PowerShell script for automatic update of Windows Agents to v.4.1 through Distribution job was changed, be sure to download the updated script. Also, be sure to place Resilio File Locking driver msi installer among the deliverable files. For more information, see Update Resilio Agents Using Distribution Job.
Updating a Linux Cache server
Linux Cache Servers
v4.1.0 and newer requires libfusev3. Update of the Linux Agent that acts as a
cache server from previous 4.x version to 4.1 requires uninstalling the
libfuse2 libraries.
Disabled CSP in Management Console
In MC v4.1.0 Content Security Policy is disabled for clean installs and
update. If necessary, for example, using Cloudflare, enable it in MC config
file
{
"security": {
"contentSecurityPolicyHeader": true
}
}
Rebranding

Active Everywhere Platform v4.0.0.
Migrate Sync jobs to File cache or Hybrid work jobs
Resilio Active Everywhere Platform v4.0.0 comes with two new jobs - File Caching Job and Hybrid Work Job.
it is possible to migrate an existing sync jobs into a new type of job without
starting from scratch and waiting for all the files to be indexed and synced.
Ensure the Agents meet the necessary requirements and make manual adjustments
to the Agent's database files as needed. For more information, see Migrate Sync Jobs To File Cache Or Hybrid Work Jobs.
Check if you have Linux Agents with enabled TSS. Disable it.
Selective Sync is not supported for Linux OS even though may be enabled in a
job configuration. With Linux cache server,
introduced in Resilio Active Everywhere Platform v.4.0.0, this configuration
will lead to stalled job.
Inspect the existing Synchronization jobs and the groups with Linux Agents,
and see if Linux Agents have Selective Sync enabled.
Edit the jobs and disable the Selective Sync option, or remove the Agents from
the groups.
Check if you have jobs with Legacy Selective Sync
Legacy Selective Sync is deprecated in 4.0.0. Delete Agents using legacy
Selective Sync from the jobs to prevent compatibility issues.
Check if you have Network policy rules
Agents updated from v3.8.0 or older may report an error about no available
Agent to connect via the rule. To address this, change the tag on an Agent to
recalculate the network policy rules and re-establish connections.
Plan the downtime for the Cache server in Hybrid and File cache jobs To ensure seamless update from v4.0 to v.4.1 and newer it's advisable to shutdown the cache server before the update to ensure no file access from users' endpoints during the upgrade process.
Media files previews are available in TSS shares on macOS Agent Starting with Resilio 4.2.2, file previews are enabled by default for macOS Agents in TSS jobs, macOS end-users in Hybrid work jobs.
